The UN WorldWide Campaign on Climate Change

Seal The Deal

Your banners form Climate Maze!

Hundreds of cloth banners stamped and signed with vigour by Seal the Deal! campaign supporters are now on show to the world in Copenhagen.

The banners form the walls of a giant Climate Maze erected in Kongens Nytorv Square in the centre of the COP 15 host city.

Since the launch of the UN-led campaign earlier this year, thousands of people from Bangkok to Washington and Cameroon to Vladivostok have added their signature to the banners which are part of the Climate Petition calling on governments to seal a new climate deal in Copenhagen.

The Climate Maze and its accompanying Hard Rain photographic exhibition were officially opened today by the Copenhagen Mayor for Technical and Environmental Administration, Klaus Bondham; the United Nations Environment Programme Executive Director, Achim Steiner, and Hard Rain project creator, Mark Edwards.

"If you've signed a cloth banner and added your voice to this powerful campaign, we thank you for your concern and support," Mr Steiner told the large crowd who gathered for the launch.

The banners have been sent to Copenhagen by a diverse cross-section of the international community, keen to take their message direct to goverment officials who will meet for the crucial UN Climate Change talks from tomorrow.

The maze and Hard Rain exhibition will be open to the public until 19 December.

If you want to suggest ways to re-use or recycle the campaign banners when the maze is dismantled, please contact the Seal the Deal! campaign team: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
