Peruvian president - fifth world leader to sign the petition

Raising public awareness about Climate Change, Peruvian President Alan García, the Minister of the Environment, Antonio Brack and the entire Cabinet of Ministers signed the Climate Petition at the Government Palace.
The Peruvian president is now the fifth world leader to lend support to the UN led campaign by signing the petition.
Peru is extremely vulnerable to the effects of climate change and in the last Climate Change COP 14 meeting, Peru proposed reducing its emissions by 47% by reducing deforestation for a ten year period.
