Climate Signature Initiative joins forces with the UN Seal the Deal Campaign

Vattenfall intends to support decisions makers in taking the necessary action to make it easier for everyone, companies and individuals, to combat climate change. Vattenfall drew up a Climate Manifesto and asked people on its markets - Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Finland and Poland - to show their support and sign it.
The Manifesto asserted the need for:
1. A global price on carbon dioxide emissions
2. More support for climate friendly technologies
3. Implementation of climate requirements for products
The Climate Manifesto have gathered over 244.192 signatures to date.
Every signature for the climate manifesto became a symbolic figure. The figures went on a tour of Europe from Brussels to Poznan, places where the worlds leading decision makers met to discuss climate issues. The events in, 7 major cities, clearly visualised the massive public support to bring about a positive decision on the climate at COP 15 in Copenhagen.
“Vattenfall has given the public a chance to influence decision-makers at a global level. In this way, we want to give our backing to decision-makers in taking necessary actions to make it easier for companies and private individuals to slow the process of climate change”, says Vattenfall CEO Lars G. Josefsson.
Now is time for the Climate Signature Initiative to join forces with The UN Worldwide Seal the Deal campaign. Together, these two initiatives will further compel and necessitate the right decisions at the COP 15 summit in December, decisions people all over the world are depending upon and expect.
